By taking a look at your
student's syllabus or working closely
with their teacher, you can understand
which subjects could be supplemented by
the Learning System. This is why
parental participation is not only
encouraged, but highly recommended.
It is also recommended that you
understand which areas of their homework
can be supplemented by noting which
subjects are being taught in their
class. Our product is not intended to
replace school curriculum, but rather
expand on it and act as an accessory
tool to building your child’s knowledge.
Before you put your software in, have a
plan. After homework has been completed,
or even before, a presentation on the
subject would be great because it could
offer a deeper understanding. With a
deeper understanding and a newfound
confidence from that understanding,
homework can be a breeze. When you first
put your disc into your DVD drive, a
menu will pop up with titles according
to subject. Click the subject you have
decided to study, and you will be
brought to that titles presentation.
For example, if you or your students
have been studying the history of the
great depression, find this area in the
Learning System and listen, watch, or
even read about it further. Each key
word or name in the presentation will be
highlighted so that you may click it.
You will be brought to the built-in
dictionary definition of the word or
name you have clicked, as well as its
thesaurus explanation. Much like raising
your hand in a classroom, this feature
will give you great insights into the
subject and answer your questions.
After the presentation is over, there is
the option of taking a quiz on the
subject you have just learned about.
These quizzes can be printed as paper
test sheets. The benefit of this, is
that not only will practicing with these
test sheets prepare you or your student
for taking a test in school, but it will
help you to lessen any test anxiety that
you, or they, might have. With this,
parent’s can also monitor progress
electronically with the Learning Systems
built in test score log, or by printing
out test scores.
Some subjects may be more difficult than
others. Math or science for example, is
a subject that many people struggle
with. In the Learning system, you are
gaining many tools to help you to
succeed. If you are driving to the
store, or to school, you can bring along
the Audio books which are included with
your Learning System. Not only this,
Innovative Knowledge has put their
Learning System subjects in a format
that is compatible with your iPod.
Whether you on the bus, on your way to
class, relaxing in your living room, or
having dinner, you can bring your
education with you anytime, anywhere.
Often times in school we encounter very
important assignments such as reports or
projects. Let’s take science for
example- your teacher may either want a
science project, or a report on the
structure of a cell. What is the best
approach with the Learning System on
your side? Find the subject that you
need help in, in this case, being the
structure of a cell. In our subjects and
presentations, there are images which
you can print and use in your report,
and details that you can learn and be
inspired by to write about for your
report. Some of our science
presentations also include suggestions
for science projects, and even the ones
that do not, provide detailed
information on the scientists of the
past and their experiments, which can
provide examples and direction for what
kind of project you should focus on.
Using the Learning System software has
been shown to not only improve grades,
but to also encourage independent study
habits. Narration, video, and audio in
all subjects will adapt to any sort of
learning style, and actually compliments
learning disabilities by providing those
three options. Use Audio Books of your
student learns best through listening,
watch video presentations if your
student learns best by example, or read
through a titles chapter’s if your
student learns best through reading.
